ABSN Curriculum
Spanning four semesters, our accelerated, 16-month BSN program in Portland requires you to complete 59 credit hours of online didactic coursework, hands-on learning at our high-tech nursing site and clinical practice at top local health care facilities.
Because our ABSN curriculum includes comprehensive online coursework, hands-on preparation, and real-world application, you can expect to graduate with a strong academic foundation along with the clinical preparedness needed to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX).
The courses and topics comprising the accelerated nursing track in Portland provide exposure to concepts such as cultural diversity, spiritual care and ethics, nursing informatics and evidence-based practice so you can perform effectively in today’s dynamic health care environments.
Clinical experiences start in the first semester and may cover the following areas:

- Obstetrics
- Pediatrics
- Behavioral/Mental Health
- Acute Care
- Community/Public Health
- Health Promotion/Education
- Management/Leadership
In keeping with our emphasis on service, these clinical rotations prepare you to learn to care for the whole patient – mind, body, and spirit, as well as promote health, offer quality bedside care, and provide leadership, both within health care organizations and in the broader community.
